Their goals aligned more often than not. Both of them had strived to be better trainers and would jump at any opportunity to do so. Although, Lux fears that this is a bit above his original expectations for what she had in mind in terms of getting stronger.[break][break]

Given that this sort of activity was already part of his ranger training, (learning to traverse all kinds of different terrain was crucial) Lux hadn’t been turned off by the idea. However, it’s a bit nerve-wracking to think she’ll be participating alongside them. Mt. Chimney was also highly intimidating given its hot climate, though it sounded simple enough hiking it could be pretty treacherous.[break][break]

Lux's surprise isn't unwarranted. The epitome of a girly girl, Luka really doesn't seem to be the hiking type. And she's not really, but being a trainer basically necessitates it. Even if she'd rather be sipping on a boba tea in Lilycove right now...[break][break]

At least she's dressed for the occasion, trading in kitten heels for pink timberlands and frilly skirts for sensible shorts. By her side, Bonbon stretches her legs and prepares for a long hike upwards, while Plum floats lazily behind her, more content to nap than exert herself.[break][break]

"Hmmmm...not exactly! I've been stargazing up here once. But it was nighttime, and much cooler..." That evening with paxton concordas is still a fond memory— the first time she'd really hung out with her neighbor.[break][break]

"Anyways, I do hike! I wanna be stronger, Lux!" She grins wolfishly and flexes a thin arm. There's no definition to that noodly bicep... "Come on, let's get buff!"[break][break]

Luka's ponytail nearly whacks Lux in the face as she turns on her heel and begins to march up Mt. Chimney, full of an undeserved bravado.[break][break]

Returning to the mountain sides after his last incident made his stomach turn. But, the circumstances are different. The air is calm. There’s no impending danger and nothing to be lost. He’ll make sure of that.[break][break]
“Oh? I heard the stars are beautiful up here on clear nights. I’ll have to try that sometime.”[break][break]
Her declaration to be stronger makes him chuckle. Not because he doesn’t take her seriously, but it’s that determination alone, so heartfelt and pure that makes him smile. [break][break]
In contrast to her pink hiking attire, he wears some purples and muted blues. Lux doesn’t wear many shorts, but it’s clear from his arms and legs alone that he’s buffed up in the last couple of months since he’s seen her.[break][break]
He barely dodges the ponytail, unable to hold back his smile. “I don’t know, Luka. Are you sure you can hold any muscle?”[break][break]
